I was stuck in my job in a new homes department and wanted to have a career progression and more importantly salary increase. I could perform my role seamlessly and was getting bored, hence is started looking for how I could improve my job satisfaction. As someone who started my career with an apprenticeship, I knew I didn’t have to take an expensive University degree to get a good role. I became a housing officer after a number of years after my apprenticeship. I wanted to have a technical role in the construction industry so I was searching for an opportunity to cross over from customer-facing roles. Kaboom!!! It was an eureka moment when I found out I could take just one course and change the trajectory of my career to what I had always wanted. Thank you, 40k Plus, for the inspiration.

I was looking to change my career and was tired of my job as it became the same scenario, day in and day out. I have to appease angry customers and bear the brunt of a failed system. I decided it was time to follow my passion, and change career. It felt daunting to change from my comfort zone and that I was going to be making decisions instead of being told what to do. Taking the 40k Plus Program gave me confidence and all the support I need to perform excellently in my new role. It is much easier when you have one-to-one coaching and mentorship.
